High Dry Matter Content Digestion has the benefit of utilising a huge range of different feed stocks. This means that this type of plant can digest higher viscose feed stocks such as maize, grass silage, potato waste, flowers, solid manures and some food waste. This does not have any impact on gas yields, flexibility or safety. An additional benefit is the footprint of such sites are much smaller in terms of overall size with the same output as a Wet Matter Digestion Plant. Sizes of plants start as low as 250kW electrical and go up to multi-mW electrical. However, this should not mean it can only produce electrical energy, most plants in the UK tend to be Biomethane.
